Mission Statement
As part of the Archdiocese of Hartford facing the needs of a changing society and changing Church, aware of our uniqueness embracing the towns of Washington and Roxbury with many weekend residents as well as full-time resident families, conscious of being blessed with material and natural bounty, recognizing the special opportunities available in the setting of small towns, dedicated to the spirit of ecumenism, we see our mission to live and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through prayer, especially the Eucharist, through education, supporting parents in their role as the primary educators of their children as they prepare for their first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation, through social action building community among parish members, reaching out to Catholics not affiliated with the parish, and cooperating with the other churches in our towns, especially in addressing the needs of the community with a particular emphasis to reach out to those with special needs.
