Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Fraternal organization consisting of men who believe in the four core principles of our organization – Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

We will host our annual parish picnic on June 9th at the pavilion next to Washington Elementary School. Please use the sign-up sheets in the back of both churches if you plan on bringing salad or desserts. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Knights meet every month in the parish hall. If you are interested in joining our organization or have any questions concerning the organization, please contact our Grand Knight Bill Janega at 860-868-0909.

Housatonic Council #40

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 in New Haven, Connecticut by Blessed Michael McGivney. The Knights of Columbus is open to all Catholic men over the age of 18. The Knights are known as the “strong right arm of the Catholic Church.” We have always been firmly united with the pope, the vicar of Christ. We stand with our bishops, support our priests and aid in the formation of seminarians and religious. Our order is based on 4 main principles: Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

Our local council was established in 1887 and has been supporting the Catholic Church in New Milford since its inception and currently supports both St. Francis Xavier & Our Lady of the Lakes Churches. Our 4 main areas of involvement are: Faith, Family, Community, Life. We meet at St. Francis Xavier Church on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm.
